A B2B SaaS brand became a cited source in 61% of its target AI answers

We ran a six-month GEO programme for a SaaS brand with solid organic traffic but zero presence in AI answer engines.

Challenge

The brand ranked in the top three on Google for its core category, yet across 120 target questions on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini it was cited only nine times. A competitor ranking lower organically appeared in more than half of the same answers.

Analysis showed two root causes: content pages opened with long preambles instead of answering the question, and facts about the company were inconsistent across the web.

Solution

The programme ran across three layers:

  • Entity layer: a schema.org graph was built, corporate facts were made consistent across 40+ third-party sources, and founder and expert profiles were published in verifiable form.
  • Content layer: 68 pages were converted to an answer-first format, each opening with a crisp 40–60 word definition before going deeper.
  • Access layer: llms.txt was published, server-side rendering verified, and the robots policy for AI crawlers defined explicitly.

Outcome

By month six the brand was cited in 73 of the 120 target questions. Referral traffic from AI engines reached 11% of total organic traffic — and converted better than any other channel.
